Foreign Citizens Entering Peru for the Event

Foreign citizens wishing to enter Peru to attend the event must comply with the current immigration requirements, in accordance with the regulations applicable to their country of origin.

1. Classification by Region and Type of Visa

The applicable entry category is detailed below:

Tourist Immigration Status

Applicable for attending events, conferences, or meetings without receiving remuneration in Peru.

Business Visa

Required when engaging in commercial representation activities, negotiations, contract signing, or any other corporate activity within Peruvian territory.

South America Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay. Bolivia, Colombia, and Ecuador may enter with national ID only. Venezuela: Mandatory visa required.
North America United States and Canada (visa-exempt for short stays). Mexico: Valid visa required following the suspension of the exemption in 2024.
Central America Panama (visa-exempt for tourism and business). Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras. Cuba, El Salvador, Haiti, and Nicaragua require a mandatory visa.
Europe European Union countries (Spain, France, Germany, etc.) and the United Kingdom. Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Serbia.
Asia Japan (visa-exempt for tourism and business), South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates. China, India, Vietnam, and most Southeast Asian countries require a visa.
Oceania Australia and New Zealand (visa-exempt for tourism). Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Samoa, and other territories require a visa.
Africa South Africa, Morocco, and Botswana may have facilities or exemptions depending on recent agreements. The vast majority of African countries require a visa processed through a Peruvian consulate.

2. Difference Between Tourist and Business Visa

Tourist Visa:

Sufficient to attend the congress as an attendee or participant. It does not allow commercial transactions or signing contracts within Peru.

Mandatory if you are traveling to Peru to represent a company in negotiations, conclude commercial agreements, or if you will receive income from a Peruvian source.ithin Peru.

3. General Documentation Requirements

For all foreign nationals, regardless of visa type:

Valid Passport:

Minimum validity of 6 months at the time of entry.

WMC 2026 Accreditation:

Return Ticket:

Airline ticket confirming departure from Peru.

Proof of Financial Means:

Bank statements or credit cards to cover your stay.

4. Application Process

If your country requires a visa, you must initiate the process at the nearest Peruvian Consulate at least 30 days before your trip.

Digital Tools:

To manage your entry into Peru, there are specific digital platforms that centralize information and payments. Below are the key options:

1. Official Applications and Platforms

Virtual Immigration Agency (Web App):

The main platform for all foreign nationals. Although it is not an app available in the App Store or Play Store, it functions properly on mobile devices. It allows you to check requirements, verify immigration status, and, once in Peru, request extensions.

Essential for paying visa fees (tourist or business). Payments can be made with any international credit card without visiting a physical bank. Simply search for “Migraciones” or the corresponding fee code.

Perú App:

The main tool of the National Superintendence of Migration. Designed for foreigners already in Peru or about to enter.

Key functions:

Check the status of applications

Manage the Virtual Andean Migration Card (TAM)

Verify authorized length of stay

Use for Visas: Although it does not issue the visa physically, it allows verification of immigration documents once approved.
Availability: Android and iOS.
