The WMC2026 theme, Mining For The Future, calls on us to build Trust, lead Transformation, and advance Technology. The 3Ts guiding this global gathering.
This Congress coincides with the ancestral celebration of the Sun “Intiraymi”, a reminder of renewal.
In preparing your paper, please keep in mind the following:
We are looking for cutting-edge practical innovations that demonstrate how your work can accelerate the responsible delivery of the minerals society urgently needs. Show how your approach helps bridge current and future production, extract far more value from what we already have and reduce drastically project timelines responsibly and smartly.
For example, mining at depth involves working against the forces of nature, dealing with stress, strain and stability deep within the earth. How do we create void space in hard rock safely? How to get more out of the ore body, improve ore handling efficiency and view the entire system as an integrated whole to achieve higher performance and create lasting value.
Whether your focus is operational, technological, environment, social or policy-related, ensure it contributes to our shared goal of transformation. Whenever possible, collaborate with mining companies to strengthen the insights, impact, and applicability of your work.
When preparing your paper:
- Clearly define the problem you are addressing
- Describe the results, impact and scalability of your solution
- Then explain your approach
- Keep your writing neutral, factual and non-commercial
- Emphasize practical, scalable, and impactful outcomes
Your paper will contribute a new way of thinking and doing, that builds trust, leads transformation and advances technology for a sustainable future. Let your ideas shine as the Sun we celebrate.
