Call for Short Course Proposals

The Program Committee of the World Mining Congress 2026 invites the submission of proposals for short courses to be held in Lima, Peru on June 22 and 23, 2026, immediately prior to the Congress. These courses offer participants an opportunity to expand their knowledge and engage in interactive, hands-on learning experiences.

6 Priority Topics

We encourage proposals that address the six topics. Priority will be given to courses that help accelerate project delivery, increase drastically efficiency, and make much better use of existing resources.

  • Environmental Stewardship & Nature-Positive Solutions
  • Critical Minerals, Strategic Materials & Mineral Policy
  • Smart Operations & Systems Integration

Course Duration Formats

Short courses are offered in a few formats to accommodate content depth:

Half day:4 hours
Full day:8 hours
Two days:16 hours

Evaluation Process and Criteria

Proposals will be reviewed by the WMC Program Committee. WMC does not guarantee the acceptance of any proposal. Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria, aligned with the Congress theme “Mining for the Future” and the T3 principles (Trust, Transformation and Technology):

Clarity and depth

Clear objectives, coherent structure and depth of content.

Practical Impact and Urgency

Direct applicability to current industry challenges with potential for immediate transformation of results.

Relevance to the Congress Theme

Alignment with key priorities, achieving a lot more from existing resources and significantly reducing project timelines.

Instructor expertise

Proven experience, recognized leadership and the ability to inspire practical application.

Course design & interactivity

Well structured, engaging format fostering dialogue, collaboration and participants involvement.
